Records that survive a dead zone
How Morfeul keeps the farm’s records working at the far end of the property, where the signal gives out.
The far paddock, the bottom of the valley, the inside of a shed: on most farms there is somewhere the phone loses signal. A record that can only be saved online gets saved later, or not at all. So in Morfeul, everyday records don’t wait for the network.
Saved on the phone first
When you register an animal, log a weighing or a treatment, create a task or note an expense, the app saves it on the phone straight away and puts it in a queue. It shows up on your screen at once, marked as waiting to be sent.
Sent in order, exactly once
When the phone is back in range, the queue goes out in the order things happened. If one record depends on another, say a weighing for an animal you registered offline, the animal goes first.
Each record carries its own identity from the moment it is created. If the connection drops halfway through sending and the phone tries again, the server recognises the record and does not save it twice.
Nothing quietly disappears
If something can’t be saved, because of a permission or because there isn’t enough in stock for that movement, it stays visible so someone can sort it out instead of vanishing. The sync screen shows what is waiting, what went through and what needs attention.
Downloading the whole farm
Going the other way, the phone downloads the farm’s records in pages. It only switches to the new copy once everything has arrived and checks out, so a connection that drops mid-download never leaves you with half a farm.
Not everything works offline yet. Some operations still need a connection, and we are widening that list.
